About the School

In today’s world, it is important to teach children that God has the whole world in His hands, and to think of others before themselves. That’s why at Mission Point Christian Academy we teach:

* The Bible as our directions for life

* God as the Creator of every person and the importance of the soul

* Quality Education with a Christian perspective using A Beka curriculum

* Honor and respect for parents, authority figures, and our country

Mission

Mission Point Christian Academy was founded as a ministry of First Baptist Canton. Beginning with two grade levels in 2004 the academy now serves just kindergarten .

The desire to establish a Christian academy in the Canton community grew from our conviction that according to the Scriptures, parents are charged with the primary responsibility of the education of children. Mission Point Christian Academy is a tool to assist parents as they seek to fulfill this task. Our promise is to work closely with parents and involve them in the process.

Philosophy

Our educational philosophy recgnizes the fact that truth isn't relative. Jesus said "I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life." We believe Jesus Christ. His word and His revelation are foundational to learning. We uncompromisingly teach Bible as a part of our curriculum and integrate Scriptural truths and Biblical principles into our teaching.

Our Approach is that of a traditional education that is God-centered. The progressive model of many educational facilities today says: We don't need authority and children may choose what they study. We feel that authority provides protection and accountability in our school. Traditional education is authoritarian and provides an atmosphere of Godly-character training and outlines clear expectations that train children early in self-control.

Future Focused

Our goals are long-term and our vision is for the future. We see the building of a child as a long-term process. You as parents invest years into their lives, teaching, instructing and encouraging them in the way to go. We understand our role as your agent in the education process is to underscore your Christian values and help reinforce the Biblical truths that you teach them.

Our Four Cornerstones of A Strong Foundation

1. Evangelism and Spiritual Ministry
While our students are entrusted to us, it is our responsibility to do everything to train them. Our goal is to reach our child ren for the Lord and then train them to serve Him all the days of their lives.

2. Philosophy of Education
A traditional education rather than a progressive education.

3. Academic Excellence
A good Christian School must produce to stay in business. Our measure of success is how well our students learn.

4. Maintain high standards of conduct
Students can learn respect for others when rules are few and simple, but are always kept.

Some of the things children learn through Our Philosophy of Education:

- They learn the Bible
- They understand God as creator
- They learn the worth of their soul
- They master the 3 R's as well as other subjects
- They learn to sit up straight and pay attention
- They learn it isn't right to cheat
- They learn to recite when called upon
- They learn to honor and respect you as parents
- They learn to respect authority
- They learn a job worth doing is worth doing well
- They learn personal initiative
- They develop pride in America
- They learn healthy competition
